Composition Examples

I'm posting the slides I used last Friday for our Photography MYT class. In these slides are many professional photographs so that you can see how the pros do it. They just so it so well as you'll see.

The topic was composition, which is essentially the art of arranging all the stuff that's in your picture. I didn't cover all the composition principles, but there are many in there.

There's over 100 slides, so as you go through them, tell me if you can, which slide or picture did you like, and why did you like it? What drew you to it?

  1. Dennis, thanks for posting your slides again, very informational! One of my favorite pics was the one with the 3 pyramids and the motorcyclist on the point of one of them.

  2. slide 89 (shot of lens filter between a book). I really like this shot. why? its such a creative use of light and shadow. nice symmetry too. drawn to it because it speaks about 2 passions of mine that have stayed alive through the years. thanks for the great shot david!

  3. Dennis - another great job! my favorite pic is from slide 102 of the eagles fighting for the fish. Great picture that captured the intense action. an unbelievable shot.

  5. 89 is definitely awesome. HAHA (and I'm not biased at all)

I really like 84 (the guy on motorcycle with three pyramids). That's some awesome timing (and something you don't see every day).
