In the beginning of Photography MYT, about half the class wanted to know "How DO I take better pictures??" I think the class on composition especially helped for that. So given that we've gone over EXPOSURE and COMPOSITION now, what's next??
How do I ... You tell me! We'll be posting some useful articles in the weeks ahead for y'all.

How do I cover an event? What are some tips you have if I'm given an assignment to shoot for, say, G-Live or lecture or something?
ReplyDeleteI think it would be great to take shots during the first part of class (perhaps of people in other MYT classes), reconvene, and then do some on-the-spot critiques of shots we've taken.
How do I post process pictures? Realistically, we won't always be able get the perfect exposure every time, so it would be good to show examples of pictures that weren't taken with the ideal settings and how to salvage that afterwards with photo software.
ReplyDeleteGordon - great question. we're going to be posting a tutorial on commonly used tools/apps. i've asked david park to demo lightroom and kevan to demo each for us to see the differences.
ReplyDeletePost processing - I think the main issue is time. Ideally, we'd all be on summer break, looking through our photos and having fun with them. But reality is we have jobs, families, ministry, blogs, etc. So if the quick and dirty tutorials could show quick and dirty methods that would be great!!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be great if Photography MYT went around taking photos of MYT happening since we don't seem to have anyone covering MYT. And yeah, feedback is key.
great comment guys! rich, already there. gordon, great suggestion - i'll may touch briefly in class 4 if I hear more votes for it. john, could you add the free picassa to the list? e, thanks for your input!
